Calling all songwriters! Meetings of the new Songwriters’ Circle will be held in the conference room at the Story Library at 7:00 P.M. on the second Monday of each month! These get-togethers will be a chance for songwriters to share their original music: lyrics and/or melodies, not to be confused with popular jam sessions. Come inspire and be inspired! For more information, contact Ann Lowe at or 307-763-3988.

Writers of all genres!

Do you ever think you would like to write for fun or profit? Poems, stories, essays, journals, novels, articles…whatever! The Storytellers writing group invites you to attend! For encouragement, inspiration, and honest critique of original writings, come to the Storytellers meetings held in the back room of the Story library  monthly on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays at  7 P.M. Dates are subject to change, so please call the library at 683-2922 if you’re interested in attending. For questions about the meetings, call Sue Wilcox at 683-2466.

October Display Held Over Through Nov. 21–Marc Strahn and Kathi Hanson Collection of Russian Lacquer Miniatures and Sioux Porcupine Quill Boxes

Treat yourself to this outstanding display of intricate, exceptionally detailed hand-painted boxes from Russia. Originating in the village of Fedoskino (Федоскино) near Moscow in 1795, the art of painting (often folk tale scenes) on papier-mâché decorative boxes and panels has been revived by young artists of the 21st century. You will be amazed!

Included in the display are several exquisite porcupine quill boxes made by the Sioux of North Dakota.
