THE LIBRARY: WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU!

You will find more than 17,000 books (in regular and large print) in the adult and youth services collections.  Classics, current Best Sellers, Reference and much, much more are available for 2-week checkout.  You will also find:

COMPUTERS:
Nine Internet terminals are available for public use in one-hour sessions.  Tongue River Branch Library also offers wireless Internet connectivity to patrons at least 18 years of age.
SEARCH:
WYLD Cat (library’s on-line catalog) includes library holdings of the -4- libraries in the Sheridan County Public Library System, as well as public and community college libraries  throughout the state; periodical databases, and indexes (full-text articles from hundreds of magazine); state government information.

NEWSPAPERS:
Billings Gazette, Casper Star Tribune and The Sheridan Press (these are kept for one month)

MAGAZINES:
Consumer Reports, Family Circle, Good Housekeeping, National Geographic, Newsweek, People Weekly, Popular Mechanics, Popular Science, Sunset, Taste of Home, and Time for the adults in the community. For teens you will find Seventeen, and for younger library users you will find: Highlights, Ladybug, National Geographic for Kids and Ranger Rick. All are available for 2-week checkout.

VIDEOS and DVD’s:
We have over 900 titles available for 1-week checkout

AUDIO CASSETTES (Books on Tape) AND CD’S:
Enjoy them at home and/or listen to them while driving–more than 400 titles in the collection, available for 2-week checkout.

Story Hours

In “the Owl’s Nest” Tuesday’s at 10:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., Spring & Fall Sessions. Summer Storytimes are June 3rd-July 30th @ 10:30am. You may contact the library at (307) 655-9726 for more information.

Exhibits and Programs

Materials and programs for Tongue River Elementary School, Middle School and High School age students , along with local artists, art displays and group book discussions (Tween, Teen & Adult) are held throughout the year. We offer a Summer Reading Program, June 3rd-July 31st, 2013.  New books for beginning readers, as well as fiction and research material for older students and adults, provide a world of excitement for the whole family. Everything is free and open to the public!
