Skateboard Policy

Bicycle, Scooter, Skateboard, Roller Skate, Roller Blade Policy

Every person operating a bicycle, scooter, skateboard, roller skates or roller blades upon the sidewalks, concrete platforms, parking lot or curbing on library property (the area within the sidewalk boundaries surrounded by Alger, Brooks and Lewis Streets) shall dismount and push such bicycle or scooter, or pick up and carry such skateboard, or remove and carry such roller skates or roller blades. Persons found in violation shall be notified that their actions are prohibited and may be asked to leave library property. Further violation may result in the Library pursuing legal action against the person in violation.

City of Sheridan Ordinance

Every person operating a bicycle, scooter, skateboard, roller skates or roller blades upon the sidewalks, alleys or streets of the city shall yield the right-of-way to all pedestrians; and upon entering a street shall yield the right-of-way to all approaching vehicles; and upon all sidewalks in the downtown business district as defined by section 16-14.2, the operator of a bicycle, scooter, skateboard, roller skates or roller blades shall dismount and push such bicycle or scooter, or pick up and carry such skateboard, or remove and carry such roller skates or roller blades. Provided, however the bicycle provisions of this section shall not apply to uniformed police officers performing bicycle patrol duties. (Ord. No. 782, § 17, 4-6-42; Ord. No. 1126, § 1, 6-10-82; Ord.
