Sheridan County Library System Library Card Policy
Permanent and temporary residents of the Sheridan County trade area are eligible to apply for either a regular or a limited library card. A valid photo ID may be required. Any photo ID issued by a governmental entity, photo credit card, or a current school activity card is considered valid.
- Children ages 11 and younger may apply for a Regular card when a parent or adult with a library card or a valid photo ID signs the application. The mailing address of the person signing the card should appear on the application.
- Children ages 11 and younger may apply for a Limited Card by signing their own application.
- Persons ages 12 and older may apply for a Regular card. A valid photo ID and signature are required.
- Persons ages 12 and older who are temporary residents or do not have a valid photo ID may apply for a Limited Card.
Regular Card
A regular card is a full privilege card wich allows a patron to check out an unlimited number of items.
Limited Card
A limited card is a limited-privilege card which allows a patron to check out a maximum of two (2) items. A limited card is issued with an expiration date of 3 months. If at the end of 3 months, the patron's record is clear (i.e. no fines, fees or overdues), a patron will be issued a regular card upon request.
