Events at Story Branch Library

Book discussion Series begins in February!

We will be reading the series entitled Canine Companions!  This series is sponsored by the Wyoming Humanities Council.  Attendance at the discussions is free, and open to the public!
We meet on Mondays, at the Story Library from 6:30-8:00
The dates and titles are as follows:
February 1 - Merle's Door by Ted Kerasote,
March 1 - Winterdance by Gary Paulson,
April 5 - Travels with Lizbeth by Lars Eighner, and
May 3 - My Dog Skip by Willie Morris.
We have copies of Merle's Door available at the library, so feel free to stop in and check one out!  We hope you will join us!

Volunteers make a difference!

We appreciate, very much, all our volunteers do for us!  Pictured below is Ivy Cummings, who has been volunteering at the Story Library for over 20 years! She is an absolute "gem" to have around!  She is shown here working on the collection of over 100 books (mostly mysteries) Craig Johnson donated to the Story Library! Thanks, Ivy, for everything you do for us!

Our library board members spruced up the library parking spaces by marking a handicap parking area! They put up a sign and painted the curb to indicate the handicap access adjacent to our very convenient ramp. They also raked the yard, which anyone who lives in Story knows, is a never-ending job! Here are a few summer pictures showing them hard at work!

Our dear friend and long time volunteer, Gary Dean, passed away last November. He had volunteered at the library for over 20 years and was such a delight to have around! Gary loved to visit with everyone that came into the library! He had an infectious laugh and a heart of gold! Gary so enjoyed being at the library and we loved having him here. He is greatly missed!
Here are a few pictures of our wonderful friend!

Gary was soooo excited when he got his new red truck last summer! He also just loved Christmas time! He would start wearing his Santa hat the first of December and wear it until December 31st! He truly enjoyed life!

Christmas Open House

Our annual Christmas Open House was held at the Story Library December 5th! Local pianist, Sandy Canfield, played Christmas music, while those who gathered at the library enjoyed visiting with one another! Christmas goodies, hot apple cider and coffee were available!  Thanks to all our Library Board members for providing the tasty treats, to Sandy for playing the piano, and to all that stopped in to help us celebrate the holiday season!

Preschool Story Time

We offer preschool story time every Wednesday from 1:30 - 2:15.  We read stories and have some type of art or craft activity.  All pre-school children and their caregivers are invited!  For more information on Children's News, please click on the Kids tab on the bar above.
