Sheridan Fulmer Homebound Services

Homebound Services Librarian

As the Homebound Services Librarian, I would be delighted to visit with any individual or group about these unique services. If you know someone who might be served by this library program and would like to sign up, or if you would like to hear more about what we are able to offer our patrons through Homebound Services, please call Kathryn Gilbert at (307) 674-8585, ext. 123.

Home Delivery

The Sheridan County Public Library System provides free pick-up and delivery of library materials for Sheridan City residents who are temporarily or permanently homebound, regardless of age. As always, individual preferences receive personal attention from the Homebound Services Librarian. This service is available to private homes as well as residents of local care facilities at no charge.

The Homebound Service Librarian has traditionally delivered to homebound patrons on Tuesdays from 9-2:30 p.m. Each homebound patron receives once monthly pick-up and delivery of library materials. Materials are checked out for a four-week period and may be renewed if necessary.

Our library offers regular and large print books, audio books, videos, and magazines to the homebound patron. Reference work may be done on request.

Book-by-Mail

For homebound patrons in outlying areas of Sheridan County, library materials may be obtained at no charge through books-by-mail. Items delivered via mail will be checked out for four weeks. Items may be renewed, if needed.

Large Print Collection

Homebound Services oversees the library’s permanent large print collection as well as the rotating large print collection that the Wyoming State Library provides for us every four months. Large print books are an excellent resource for the visually impaired patron. These materials also benefit patrons with learning disabilities, especially dyslexia, and are educational aids to individuals and their tutors involved in literacy programs.

Audio Books

The library offers a selection of popular fiction and non-fiction titles on CD or Playaway MP3 format.

DVDs

Popular movies, foreign, self-help and documentary “films” are available in DVD format.

The Library @ The Senior Center

On the last Wednesday of every month, The Library @ The Senior Center is available from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Stop by to peruse a selection of large print books available for checkout, apply for a library card, learn more about Sheridan County’s public library services, or just to say hello.

Senior Outreach Programming

Senior Outreach Programming will “bring the library” to patrons in retirement centers, assisted-living facilities, and other senior-based organizations, such as the Senior Center. Offerings will range in variety from book reviews to lobby stops. We can bring requested library materials for checkout, as well as present informative and entertaining programs.
